Arcadia the crystal sighs in the hour of the keening moon

Arcadia is a strange place and its denizens even stranger the night sky held stars that moved to the naked eye, a moon in the shape of a skull shouted obscenities and spat blood that smelt of burnt rubber and broken dreams, the grass was alternatively soft and yielding or sharp as razor blades, wind could carry the shrill cries of forsaken children or the scent of love’s first kiss. None of that mattered to the even stranger company walking through what was for that moment the crystal sighs. A being composed of eyeballs and gibbering mouths led a completely normal looking human being through the treacherous landscape. “The courts appreciate your generous offer and repay it in kind good sir”, it didn’t so much as speak as have a dominant set of voices conveying ideas. “If what you say is true the noble you’re signing to your service is ample compensation.” The mouths erupted in a twisted parody of a chorus “the lightning court raised this little nothing into a something fit for the noble unseelie courts of our most august and regal courts.” The man sighed “I see if you speak so highly of him he must be something to behold.” The hundreds of mouths laughed in unison “Look to the sky weary traveler the show is about to begin”. The sky blazed with color electricity of every color of the rainbow, bolts of destruction seared the face of the raving moon causing it to cry out in pain and fury. It hurled rocks at the sky borne youth only to miss by a wide margin. The youth struck again and again at the hysterical moon until it hung lifeless in the sky its ranting ceased. The mouths spoke again “His contract is yours good sir his name is unpronounceable to your tongue, what shall you call him?” The youth with skin like polished ivory and platinum blonde hair knelt before his new master. “He will be an element of chaos, a wrecking ball, my angel of destruction, my little wildling.” The youth smiled small flecks of electricity dancing around his willowy frame.
