If I could have
I would have
If I should have
I would have
But I didn't
Not out of intent
But out of not knowing
Because I know now
what I did not know then
Hindsight is 20 / 20
while the moment is often blind
An educated guess
is still just a hypothesis
The past can portend the future
but it is far from accurate
We all have emotions and feelings
that defy logic and reason
All our experiences and influences
are references and not facts
Some decisions are good
and give us confidence
Some decisions are bad
and fill us with sorrow
Choices are paths
Routes with no finite destination
Each day is an adventure
in which builds upon itself
Good, neutral, or bad
we must bravely move forward
Opportunities can be missed
but these do not define you
Things may be misunderstood
but did you learn from what was said?
The path of life
is treacherous
Even if you stand still
you are still in motion
You never truly step back
so much as you may trip or fall
Life's scrapes and scars
remind us we are flawed
Pacing yourself
allows injuries to become motivators
Some roads are treacherous
but must be traversed to move onward
Fortunately the path of life
is not a lonely one
So carry on
Do what you can
Live in the moment
hold hands with a friend
Yesterday, today, and even tomorrow
may be filled with danger
But you need to feel bad
to know what good feels like
So to you I implore
Move forward
Life is hard
but not to be regretted
Keep moving
Focus on the good
Pick yourself up
Own your mistakes
Accept there will be bad times
amidst the good times
But one thing is constant
and that is you are not alone
