Endless Realms bestiary - Boggard
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Once upon a time, I made a thing, and I called it Gorf. It was a stuffed frog I sewed when I was, I dunno, eight or something, and whether it was because I did a terrible job stuffing him, or tried sleeping with him too much, but either way, he was more "flat pieces of fabric" than a stuffed animal. His name was Gorf, which is, not terribly creatively, "frog" spelled backwards. I still have him, actually.
Anyway, so all frogs are gorfs to me. This guy is technically a toad, but when I was designing this creature and giving him a kind of camouflage mantle that resembles ghillie suits, I started calling him Ghillie-Gorf. He's a Boggard, officially, but to me, he's totally a Ghillie-Gorf. I like him.
