It was a scandal that all the kingdoms people knew.
None would ever speak it aloud, especially in the presence of any of the palace guards - but not a single citizen held any doubts about it's truth... not after seeing the looks in their eyes.
That the crown Prince, the King's one and only son, could fall in love with the head of the guards was preposterous. It meant the eventual doom of the kingdom at the hands of it's neighbours, as the royal bloodline would die out without a future heir.
And yet, the townsfolk couldn't help but have their hearts melted as the prince and the barbarian king stood side by side - neither needing a thing in this life except each other.
No. Let the other kingdoms say what they would - THIS was our kingdoms TRUE strength.
