I've been working on making art for all of my friends, partly as gifts and partly as practice. This is the spider avatar of one of my friends, who said he wanted a "really, really shiny black spider. Really black and really shiny." Did I mention black and shiny? The entire spider was done to his specifications. The butterfly, however, was a bonus.

I'm still learning how to incorporate backgrounds. Hopefully my next piece won't take so long and it will be even better than this one.
