Well, I finally got the desk set up this weekend (10-4-08) and took some pictures as I reassembled it and got it in place with the person who commissioned it. Here it is sans computer and the tablet but with all the cables and accessories (stylus and keyboard) set up. The keyboard fits into a fabricated slide-in carriage on the bottom of the main surface. The stylus has is own cubby, a chamois lined section that was a last minute addition. The stain on the sides as you can tell is a dark red while the main stain is very light. On both sides you can see extra detail carvings, these were painted gold and then varnished over the same way as the whole surface. The item you can't see is extended off the bottom of the side tray and this is a power strip where all these little goodies get their power. The steel frame actually started it's life as a commercially available mini-desk which has had the legs lopped off with a sawzall. The corners of the image BTW were edited out since they contained my tools (Screwdriver, pliers and pull-ties) and I didn't think these needed to be included :)
