The piece has a warm, lighthearted feel to it as the main character filled with bright, wide-eyed fascination enjoys the wonder of nature on a warm spring day in a lovely patch of wildflowers. The pose of the character is fluid and natural, with a solid anatomy as he sits with his paw upraised, to have the butterfly light on his finger. His expression is good in conveying his wonder as he enjoys his new fluttery little friend. The details on him are very good as well, from the flowers daisy chained about his bicep and those in his hair, to the lines below his eyes and the little spots on his muzzle and the light of his whiskers. The broken speed lines work as they convey the lazy feeling of the flow of spring breezes. The movement doesn't just stop there either, with the flowers conveying a feeling of being pushed about by said breezes, and the insects while toony convey great movement themselves as the bees buzz about and butterflies flitter about here and there. The color palate while being a touch on the cool side, works well. The gradation of the background and overall coolness of the palate draws the viewers eye to the center of interest, the warmer colors of the happy pup. The flowers themselves show a fair diversity of types naturally intermingled in the wildflower patch. All in all the piece is a rock solid capital work. Hope to see more in the future!
