In re Time Travel.
There are so many logic problems in time travel stories (particularly Back to the Future) that I generally do not enjoy such tales, and try to avoid them. BY HIS BOOTSTRAPS, however, was acceptable. I did at least 1, perhaps 2, instant crowd scenes in my fan-fics by having some joe go back over & over, until a whole mob of him existed, enough to tackle the trouble.
To give advice to my younger self on mistakes to avoid, would create a whole new reality, alongside the original one. The splitting of reality...
In REHABITATING MR. WIGGLES, a guy's future self meets him and hands him a gun, saying "Shoot yourself, and save us BOTh some grief !".
