ok so OBVIOUSLY this has a bunch of flaws regarding actual dragonfly anatomy, but here it is. my old reference. 9 months old. amazing. it's like giving birth to something brand new. but it's actually not. it's old. 9 months old.

i'll be re-vamping this as well, with more nods to actual dragonfly anatomy!

in the meantime, here's the old story:

"Name: Suuoh Kikyō
Age: 17 y/o
Sex: Female
Species: Dragonfly (Anisoptera)
Height: 183 cm (6 ft)
Weight: 45 kg (100 lbs)
Occupation: High school student / Kendo club captain

Kikyō belongs to a very prestige family who's wealth and popularity has given them anything one could ever want, materialistically. Despite this, she has always been hard-working and rejects hand-outs, in fear that she'll wind up like her tyrannical, cruel,and spoiled older half-brother.

Her father is the owner of a very successful real-estate company and her mother is an outstanding corporate lawyer. Both parents rarely have the opportunity to spend quality time with their children, and rarely do they even try. As a result, Kikyō and her half-brother were typically raised by the estate's servants, which is how Kikyō gained the morale that good things should be earned and not given. Her half-brother however, careless as he was, refused to take any advice or knowledge from any of those who tried to give it to him.

A childhood accident resulted in the loss of Kikyō's wings,and one of her left arms. The incident had crippled her for many years, through elementary school, however going into middle school she began to take it more as a blessing rather than a curse that she was still alive. As Kikyō grew she worked to become stronger and more self-sufficient. She has taken a keen liking and skill to kendo, and is an excellent swordsman. Kikyō is and always has excelled in school, and come high school she has worked tirelessly to become kendo club captain. She is respected and well liked, and her academy commends her for her excellence.

Kikyo is quiet, self reserved and unsocial. However, she is friendly and charismatic. Her demeanor and overall physical appearance puts her off as intimidating, and makes her a target for unnecessary brawls often brought on by those who feel the need to trump her. She is also thought to be spoiled and rude, much like her half-brother who has (or would have) by now graduated. She is well respected by the kendo team and has quite a following, being the first female to succeed in becoming team captain has also upped her popularity.
