ZeeZee congratulations I say we grant you super hero status for this. *hugs tight* Moments like this are when a certain Liger wishes he could rush in with the rarely used Light Magic to help out. ^^
And yeah I noticed the separate thought bubbles. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say there's more than suppressed memories going on here. I think there may be a supernatural element here. And a very sad and dark past in Gema's early life. Man reading this is reminding me a bit of the Jack Comics. Maybe we can call the Reaper Bunny in to save the day? XD

Noble sacrifice or perfect excuse to chuck the baby? :)

Starting to look more and more like there was a fire of some kind. There was the one page where she was at their house and there was soot and everything looked pretty burnt up. I'm wondering if the father some how is responsible for arson or touching off a fire that only she and her survived. Really wanting to know what happened even more now xD
Luckily, many heroic sacrifices in fiction have a tendency to only result in a Disney death.
Wow, that actually made me FEEL the story, this comic is the one that you can spend a month binge reading to understand what is going on.
If ZeeZee would have made it, he would have been the best fur-tasy football player
Wait, does the darkness kill you or will it just singe him and consume him.
So many questions and feelings
Ve~?

(I'm sure I'll get an answer or reply telling me to go back and read the rest of the comic but I'm still gonna ask this question.)
What's the story with the darkness in Gem's dreams? (Her dreams of course being this scenario where she's an adorable lil' toddler/baby.) Like, how'd it start, what's it trying to do, etc?

Saw that coming, but in a good way. Take it from a fellow storyteller, I've learned to read beats real well and know what to look for in a good story. I could've seen it go either way, but this would've been the strongest emotional beat you could've hit here.
It's things like this that remind me the most powerful words are I love you. ;)
Good luck, Gem, you're on your own for now.
