Yeh, Bernard and Fawkes were friends back in the day! Why not? I figure they all were in this little universe of mine, just eventually got together and such.

Story Mode ACTIVATE! TL;DR: BEST PALS 2 LOVERS YEY

Bernard was kind of picked on too, mostly due to being eyebrowless, but he never let it get to him. He was the quiet kid in school, nothing ever really phased him and he always studied hard.

They talked once or twice, sometimes being paired up for school projects and whatnot, being the last ones to have no partners, Bernard never talked to anyone and neither did Fawkes. But they worked together pretty well enough. It was tough when they didn't have classes together but they managed, as do we all.

For whatever reason, Fawkes had a hard time pronouncing Bernard's name. Coming out with Bernerd, Bernie, Benard, Benny, but Barney was the last straw. So he suggested Bonnie, he didn't mind it much and it was easy enough for Fawkes to say and remember. Fawkes had also suggested that he should have a nickname too, just because. And thus he came up with Foxy. Ah friendship~

Other kids mostly backed off of Bernard, especially when he gave them that glare, but they still picked on Fawkes now and then when he wasn't around. Fawkes always smiled and said that it was okay or that nothing happened, not wanting to worry his new and (at the time) only friend.
