Part of the fun and exploration of the Calendar project, is taking on different styles and approaches to the characters. With Twitch, it alway revolves around fury, anger, intimidation, or brutishness.

I finished doing some subtle Sumi-e for another Calendar, and with all my inks out, wanted to go into a strait-ahead painting and wash. High contrast, and sumi-e like in that there are no pencil markings before I set out to paint.

I wanted Twitch to emerge from the shadow ink blot- as if the accumulation of all the darkness would blend into a very saturated dark murderous figure.
I think I did this very well. :P
