A pretty mediocre attempt to do ballpoint sketching and some hand inking again. You can clearly see the ballpoint still, although the scanner killed it..
Also, his body underneat his "cape" failed. It's supposed to look skinny below his ribs, but this is a bit overkill. It's too small and tiny! Argh I suck...
Anyway, yeah, Savantas, one of my evil characters for the story that still hasn't been worked on here. I suck once more!

For inks I would HIGHLY recommend Sakura inks. The Micron and Pigma pens are quite excellent. Also, I've fallen in love with my extra-black Tria marker for lines. It has three sizes for heads and is refillable (which is good since they run about $8 a pop x.o). I've had good results with ballpoint sketching in the past but its just too hit-miss, and if you screw up, well, game over.
Though I've been tinkering more with my drafting pencils lately for lines, trying to find better ways to keep them clean and scan them in better. I've got this pencil case I've had people call a 'surgeon's kit' due to the variety of mech. pencils I have in it xD I should snap a pic of it sometime.

I used a Pentel Brush pen for this one. It looks like.. well, a pen with a brush instead of a felt tip. It's more suited for drawing flowing lines etc., but also quite excellent for inking, depending on the lines. The graphic novel "Blankets" would be a good example on that. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e.....lankets_07.jpg
Overall, I'll stick to digital inking for now. And ballpoint sketches will never die for me. XD

Digital inking gives me headaches x.o I've not quite... grasped the medium on the whole, though I thrust myself at it constantly, like lemmings marching into the sea xD; The roughness of any of my pieces is because my mind just can't quite wrap itself around it. I feel better about it gradually but it still feels awkward and unnatural. I'm used to feeling intuitive about these things.
And I've got a Sakura with a brush tip. And the Tria has Bulletpoint, Chisel, AND Brush tips. I <3 the Brush tip the most. And you can take my drafting pencils when you pry them from my cold, dead, artless hands.

He's only evil because his actions are deemed evil in our eyes. He's just an inhuman being with a goal to purge the evil races of the face of the Earth.
Yeah, he's pretty evil alright, with his skeleton army summoning and all that. ^_^ He also has no arms, ain't it fun! :D
