ya know I recently added a picture which was digital super imposed on Rl photo. For some reason, mine never look as soft as yours, mine are completely obvious that they are spliced together, where as your backgrounds are much nicer on the eye. Any suggestions?

I hate doing backgrounds! What I try to do is match the tones on the drawing withthe background. For example if you have some very black shadows in the background you also want some of those tones in the figure. If your background is more on the orange side, you would also want to add some orange tones to your figure to help it blend in more. You can also blur out the background a bit so it is less in focus. I also washed out the colors a bit with a gradiant white set to 20 transparant. Hope that helps a bit. :)

ah yes.. on this occassion, I tried a gradient overlay wash, but probably didnt have the tone/opacity right. Thanks for the help :)

After all... I have to admit that this is not the best you ever did. Somehow this pose denied you to show your strengths you usually show when drawing and displaying the male musculature.

I am aware that this is a commission and you were a slave to the wishes of the lottery's winner, but after all I have the feeling that this could be better. It's not that I have no respect, but I think it's better to tell even the best artists some criticism. Hope to see more from you soon.
