One of the first anthroartists to do a drawing of my bobcat 'fursona' was Mike Sagara of California.
Sagara first gained popularity with his mini-comic series "Hey, Neeters!". Afterwards, he moved up to drawing for 'funny animal' comic books, such as (early issues of) "Shanda the Panda" and "Tank Vixens". Later on, he worked on a series of "Rock 'n' Roll" comic book documentaries (his best work being one on The Beatles").
At the time when he'd rendered this drawing of 'Rob Cat' with two of his "Hey, Neeters!" characters (back in 1991), I was already a member of the National Puzzlers' League for almost a decade - specializing in creating anagrams (e.g. FLY ON WITH GRACE = WHITE GYRFALCON). I don't make as many anagrams as I used to, but I still dabble with word play of one sort or another...
BTW, if anyone knows of Mike's whereabouts these days, kindly contact me (via E-mail), as I'd like to get in touch with him again...

Sagara resurfaced on Jeff Wood's "Snowbuni" website with new art.

I believe Mr. Sagara had found lucrative employment outside of the comic book industry in the mid-1990s.
I was a fan of "Hey Neeters" and "Tank Vixens" myself.
