I like the shading in this piece. I can see that the cross-hatching technique you went for really paid off. It's also pretty obvious that you spent a good deal of time referencing official Pikachu pictures in order to ensure you had a properly-proportioned visage. All in all, I'd have to say that the technical merits, combined with the humor, make for your best work to date, period.
