Buts lots and lots of experimenting. I spend a lot of time in each of my pictures changing and altering colors until I'm at least somewhat satisfied. I also have this thing with color coordination, where everything in the picture has to match somehow. :B

Looking at this really makes me want to go on a vacation to the beach. I love that you stand behind your use of vivid colors. They all complement each other and add to the cheerful mood of the character. Besides, who wants to hang around on a dreary beach? ;)

I can't help thinking that strawberry on the left is hiding. It knows it's not indigenous to the area! The orange fruit beside it is just to draw attention away while the strawberry escapes. The other strawberry is a hostage. It expects its partner to return with help but I am skeptical that this will occur.
