I took a 000 tech pen and tried to see if I could draw something that just about filled up the page with an even shade of "Grey."
...Okay. I "Cheated." I went to the Liberty Ship Jeremiyah O' Brian and took reference photos.

It was a challenge and a lot of fun. I took my sketchpad and camera into the restored liberty ship the Jeremiyah O' Brian to do the "Research." "Millie" is one of my favorite "Steanfox" characters now.

I can see why. All those pipes and valves. It's a plumber's worse nightware.

Wow you should be a comercial artist,its super detail,do you work for a company like foster wheeler,ther a heat engeneering groupe,seen some of there archeterial diagrams also complex drawings.keep up the fabolous work

Heh! Thanks for the kind comments. I once had a "Dream" of working for the Revell model kit company drawing their instruction manuals, but the plant closed down in the late 1970s. Since then I've become fascinated with steamships and Marine Archetecture. I've been inside quite a few museum ships and I spend a lot of my time looking at the piping, trying to figure out where it goes. I'm not sure I've got what it takes to work for an Engineering firm these days because they want to do everything in CAD CAM, and I prefer to do my art with "Old Fashioned" rules, triangles, templates, pencils, technical pens and my aincent eyeballs.
