Commission piece for
tamara. Changing the angle of the starship made a world of difference - not getting muddled with the horizontal background stripes any more :)
Do we like her expression? I can't decide... looks a bit zoned-out and in-love (hence the title) but I'm not sure it's a good expression. Will amend if Tam requests it ^^;
And good god that must be a full pint of coffee...

Yes, that's the look. The perfect look for the scene. The look of one who is in love and in awe with her starship, the best place she can be, her home among the stars. Finally fit for duty after months of refit at Utopia Planitia. Time to get back where she belongs, where they both belong: among the stars.
Feels a bit weird to see Tam with such short hair, but regulations are regulations, and her usual long hair would be more a bother during duty and away teams.
Thank you, you did a very awesome job on this picture! ^^

Hehe, ok, good stuff :) I realised this morning that there was a tiny (1 pixel/5 degrees) asymmetry in her eyes, which was making me think it was odd. I've fixed that in the image above now, so she should be a tad less derpy ^^ For some reason I always have a problem drawing faces on a tilt - even when I rotate the canvas and zoom in so far that I can't see the edges O_o
I think the shorter hair works quite well on her, although maybe in future we should smooth out that back edge, rather than having the rougher spikes?
Anyway, happy you're happy overall :)

Didn't realized that about the asymmetry, but I guess its more visible in the bigger version you're working with. Which I look forward to receiving! ^^
And I think you're right on the hair: smooth back edge would look way better. We'll just say she had a long night working, thus the hair! :p

Thank you :) I think Tamara and I came to a good agreement of how a starfleet uniform would need to make concessions hot-running/slow-cooling races, and it does give more opportunity to show off her fur patterning ^^
As already confessed in the first concept sketch though; I did trace the starship, since otherwise it would have taken ages and looked a lot worse. Ultimately I'm a character artist, not a science fiction spaceship artist ^^;
