I've gotten to the point of making a pattern in duct tape for the fur. Need to start working on feet paws but my plan is to mark this out first and see if i can get the pieces right. The plan is to try and make large flat pieces following how normal pants are cut. Not sure if that is a good idea or not.

I saw the preview image, without looking at the title, I thought this was a picture of someone who fell through the floor! XD
But I will say, as someone who's made pants n' clothes before, it may be difficult to do a pants style sew on these depending on the thickness of the fabric you use. Just for your sewing machine.

Yeah I think I'm going to end up sewing all of it by hand. We'll see. I meant that I'm going to try to cut the large pieces in the same way that they would cut the fabric for pants. That should hopefully mean I have a few large pieces instead of lots of little scraps to sew together.
Try sewing some cheap cloth using this pattern first, I'd hate for you to use fur on your first try and not like how the seams come out or find it not possible. I was thinking seams on the front and back with a separate crotch piece myself, but I've never made an article of clothing.
Fun fact, the fur on the body of a deer or elk is hollow, but the fur on their tail is solid.

I'm trying to follow a set that beetlecat did that I found on an image search but she's apparently magic or something. I thought about doing a practice run with cheap fabric but I don't know if I should or not. The time investment would be huge. THen what if the second one comes out worse because first time lucky. Maybe I'll just do one leg to see how it turns out. To the fabric store to buy scraps.
