Backstory:

Born to humble parents on a disused farmstead, Jeso's young life was one of self-protection and intense care in regards to how he acted with others. Complications often led to quarrels between himself and others, often brought on by the way others had treated his quiet demeanor - little help, often times the opposite, ever came from the teachers. Though he enjoyed good company with what few friends he had, he mostly busied himself in the peace of his home with studies, entertainment, and numerous drawings - sketches of the dreams and ideas which spilled into his mind since that one day.

He had heard rumours and tales of the human body being transformed into something else, but never really took interest in the matter. It wasn't until his bully-turned-best-friend, Katherine Arvilech, pulled a prank on one of the girls in his class, Kelly Louis, that he had started to think differently. Katherine had attached to Kelly's locker a small "birthday present", whose contents were unknown to him. When the young girl opened it up, she found her body surged with magical energies that effectively transformed her into a tieran - the same race Jeso and Katherine were. He was stunned by the event, and overtime grew excited about what had transpired, spurring him to implore Katherine for more information on the subject, and his own personal research into transformations.

Years passed, and the friendship between the pious but sinister Katherine and the devious but civil Jeso only strengthened. But as time went on, Jeso's exposure to the transformation scene started to have a negative effect on him. News reports of people being seriously injured and/or killed due to forced body expansion, kidnappings where the victim is eventually returned home missing limbs and having numerous other modifications done to their body, friends chewing special gum and enduring very risky changes just for the sake of pleasure, and numerous other cases of dangerous or non-consensual transformations. Even the rise of some smaller companies designing products specifically for body modification had also caused a stir in Jeso. Katherine was also agitated by all this; though while she claimed that such activities went against what her people believed in, Jeso was actually somewhat reminded of his younger past in regards to these acts, a touchy and emotional subject.

Sometime having completed their studies, the two brought together several of their friends and formed a small vigilante group of sorts, the Ardent Determinants Alliance. United by their distrust for some of the zanier activities and shenanigans of others, their mission was to investigate incidents of dangerous and/or non-consensual transformations, find those responsible for the acts and bring them to justice. It was a hard start, but with the right contacts and plenty of money out of their pockets they were able to acquire some equipment and gear, and a disused building they were able to use for their operations.

Since its founding, ADA had handled numerous cases, confronted individuals about their use of transformative products, and had grown in numbers - by a small bit. Jeso had developed relations with various individuals such as potential supporters of the cause, good-natured characters of the body modification scene, as well as a few others who stand out as potential troublemakers. He keeps his eyes open on these last ones, watching their every move to ensure they "don't go out of line".

I'm still alive!

At last I've finished the first of what will be hopefully several references for my OCs. When I first started this project, I liked the idea of drawing two versions of my OC, one in their standard outfit, and another with less clothing. Just cause you know, for reference. ;P

So, here's my primary OC and avatar, Jeso! Originally named John back in September, I've gotten used to being referred to as Jeso, so I thought my avatar might as well adopt that. Of course, I didn't necessarily have to, but for the time being I think it works alright. The last name is mostly just my excuse to fudge the "ran" part somewhere, though I did attempt to try and bring about some meaning in its creation. Not really sure if I ever did though-

It had been a few weeks since I've coloured a picture, around the beginning of March, so I may have been a bit rusty with this one. Some parts are okay, other parts could use more fine-tuning. But I've got PLENTY of projects in the works, not to mention other things going on too! If there are any major issues, I'll then perhaps go and rework them.

And yes, I do actually where glasses. I just never illustrate them for some reason. Even in the self-portraits I did for some of my classes I tend to avoid drawing them. Weird~
