Gwladys' husband and Reggie's sire, Sir (later Lord) Josslyn Buckhorn is a shrewd businessbuck whose short temper lands him into hot water on many an occasion, such as in "Sire Relief".

Reggie has been sent to the Spontoon Islands mainly because it's about as far away from Great Britain and Sir Josslyn as one can get and still be on the same planet.

And Sir Josslyn has been viewing breakthroughs in interplanetary travel with great interest...

Ultimately, Reggie does tell Sir Joss where to get off in "The Bells Are Ringing For Me And My Doe," cowritten by  eocostello and myself.
