Of course--what other kind of sport would a cheetah be into?:)
This was my half of an sketchbook art trade with
sketchdalmatian at Anthrocon 2008. With the hectic workload resulting from back-to-school season, I didn't really get a chance to work on much of anything after work (too burnt out at the end of the day) until very recently, and this is the first of the colored sketches to emerge from Con Season 2008. It's not necessarily something I promise to those I have sketch trades with, it's just something I do from time to time when I like a piece :) There are a couple more in the queue, listed in my commission info tab.
So I got the suggestion to do a cheetah, heh heh...only the second one I've drawn (the first being Ch'marr in "Administrator at Work"), and the first femme 'spottykat'. I digitally replaced the generic sneakers in the original pencils with Asics "Hyper Rocketgirl" track spikes (what an appropriate name, no?), and a couple of other objects when I did the color--basically everything without outlines was inserted digitally. I seldom do 'one off' characters, and being that I felt good enough about this sketch to color it, there is a miniscule possibility I could turn her into a regular character, but that's dependent on some awesome inspiration.

Aaaah, good point. For some reason, I hadn't factored that in. Let's see...probably do relatively well as the kicker, those guys are usually the smallest dudes on the team, right? I hate football, so I don't watch it, I have no clue. X3
I thought about basketball as well, but cheetahs tend to fail at the whole stop and turn on a dime, concept.

One of my other characters also possesses raw forward speed, and as with the cheetah, I built-in a handicap that she also can't make sudden turns while sprinting.
