Fursuit Maintenance: Fluffing Stuffing!
So many flat tails out there can be saved with this one neat trick!
Don't be scared to fluff up your tail or other stuffed things if they are staying to look a bit... Sat on! Breathe new life into the most flattened stuffed things with new or re-fluffed stuffing!
Use the seam ripper carefully, just on thread and not the fabric backing. Open a hole as large as your fist to remove and replace stuffing. Give your fur a quick wash in cold water and liquid detergent if it needs it! (Hang with a fan to air dry, no heat) if you wanna get extra fancy sew in a zipper so you can maintain your stuffing more frequently!

Thank you THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. About once a year I re-fluff my own tail, and recently did INTENSE EXTRA FLUFFSHRED-- it's better than jamming more stuffing in after old stuffing, which weighs down tails, and turns them from snuggly awesome to heavy uncomfortable. Thank you for sharing!
Hah, I did that last month when I was replacing the LEDs in my tail. I removed the compacted stuffing, set it aside, and washed the tail, then put in new fancy NeoPixel LEDs and new stuffing and reassembled, funny you mention zipper cause I was planning on it, but just ran out of time and was too lazy.
