Good modeling but really really poor lighting/rendering :P
See if you can ask him to re-render with Ambient Occlusion Subdivision set to 4, and turn off Specular Lighting.
Pretty much you shouldn't be seeing that black and white dots on the shadows; shadows should be smooth and not specular like that.
Other than that it's pretty good modeling.
