Furnal Equinox 2015 - Day 2
Ah, to have the ability to make a Super Smash Bros. character poster out of myself so that the title and the photo itself would seem slightly more epic.
Regardless, this photo was taken at
's Super Smash Bros. WiiU Single-Elimination Tournament at 7:00pm that night. The match style would be three lives each with a four-minute timer counting down, and the player had to win best-two-out-of-three matches to advance in the brackets.
In this particular shot, it's finally my turn... After waiting around in place for a whopping two-and-a-half hours (a personal best).
And even then, I quickly lost two straight bouts as Little Mac against the bracket organiser (I'm sorry, but I forget his name) as Samus, my one and only opponent.
However, I never pointed fingers anyway. To be fair, there was only one television set available for the tournament which admittedly made sense considering that the Video Games Room - where the tournament took place - was filled with retro gaming systems (like the Commodore 64) to go along with the con's theme of "Furry Arcade." Also due to the amount of furries participating in the tournament, I was randomly placed way down the brackets and therefore given a bye in Round One so that I'd be placed in Round Two. So in a bizarre aspect, I technically already won the first round without even trying! Plus I don't even own the game yet, and I really wish I did; that way, I could practice getting back into the swing of things as far as Super Smash Bros. is concerned.
But I digress. As soon as I was eliminated, Ookami Kemono and the bracket organiser kept apologising to me profusely for how everything was organised this year, promising me that they will work on making a more efficient tournament next year, and thanking me for having so much patience with everything.
As far as the patience part is concerned, I can't take all the credit. I owe it to
's daughter Tiny Tribble for hanging out with me and keeping me sane. Tiny, if you're reading this, thank you very much for putting up with me and my lame puns.
And a big thank-you goes out to Ookami Kemono and the bracket organiser for everything as far as the tournament and for granting me a spot in the brackets. I hope I didn't suck too much playing as Little Mac.
Once again, I have taken a break from practicing any artwork to post the best-of-the-best photos of my experiences from this year's
.
This year in particular was my fourth furry convention I've ever attended.
