''With his head lowered and sword inverted, he remained in a solemn position to watch over his leader's lifeless body once more before the final departure. His breathing was slow and calm, but his heart filled with sorrow, the strings being tugged when several individuals arrived and emotionally expressed their gratitude as they paid their respects to him. He remembers how he poured out his life into shaping a nation from nothing, and provided a life for him and his family, as well as many others. A tear begins to form in the corner of his eye, before finally streaking down his face, the emotional pressure adding as more people pay their respects accompanied by their painful grieving. He knows that his efforts in the armed forces are nothing compared to what this remarkable leader has done for decades, and this was the least he could do. Nevertheless, he remains silent and still, watching over his Founding Father for the last time.''
I'm sorry I'm kinda sucky at writing short stories but at least I tried heh.
Today marks the end of a week-long national mourning in Singapore for it's first Prime Minister and Minister Mentor Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who passed away last Monday on the 23rd of March 2015. In his honor, 4 high ranking officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Police have been chosen as vigil guards to watch over his coffin before being cremated. Vigil Guards are the highest form of respect for the deceased. I've chosen to draw an Air Force guard since I served in the Air Force during my time in National Service.
Rest In Peace Sir. You will never be forgotten.
