Honestly, I've got stuff I need to post and do but I'm busy with all sorts of mischief and its just gonna have to wait a few more weeks because I just wanna veg out for a day or two before getting back to work. Next month is my state show and the month after that is the World Championship and this otter isn't even technically finished by my standards and I have a doe shoulder (that got a 2nd this go around) I want to also tweak for the next show.
He's supposed to be swimming with a companion and have a different base but I was crunched for time after his tail attachment failed just 4 days before the competition (his pose and everything is custom and I'm having a heck of a learning curve via trial and error) and just tossed him in this competition for critique but ended up getting Southern Regional Champion in Professional Lifesize so OK I'LL TAKE IT.
He's my first first place and first best in category so I'm pleased as punch.
Once he's actually finished-finished I swear I'll take some nice pictures of him to post. Wait until you see the whole deal.... it'll be snazzy.

So cool! I hope winning the comps makes up for the time and money put into it. :3
There's someone somewhere here in AR that does taxidermy for people of their pets that've passed. A lot of people think it's creepy, but they're actually pretty swamped with customers.

I learn so much at the conventions panels and getting individual critique about what is wrong and how to fix it is more than worth it :)
Do the freeze-dry or actually taxidermy them? The majority of people freeze dry pets instead of actually doing full taxidermy since its easier/ cheaper. Pets are actually still kinda taboo within the greater taxidermy community but I think its very silly since money is money.
