It takes an enormous and sufficiently dedicated snake to take advantage of a dragon - but it takes a godlike presence to own one.
Pinning the wings along with the front paws to the torso right away, and grabbing the hindpaws with a coil, the night fury is quickly immobilized and lifted up, in an unusual orientation for him, to throw him off; the massive wreaths of coils pile in below him, cutting off any potential escape along the floor, ready to rise and entomb him in thick bands of muscle should he slip out of the heavy grip that holds him; the personal approach comes from the top, bearing down on him, gazing into his eyes from above, forcing him to look up doggedly at his captor, his own body providing him no advantage for once; and then, dipping under his upturned jaw and slipping the tongue around his throat, squeezing and stimulating the sensitive spot on the night fury's neck, causing him to instinctively submit and go limp...
Changing the color of the scales to mirror those of the catch is simple comforting flattery, little else.
