This one popped into my head while I was out for a walk. Vincent Price was one of my all time favorite actors. What I didn't know about him until recently was that he was one of Hollywood's most outspoken liberals and quite often spoke about the evils of prejudice.

I love this. It's always great to see recognition for such a great actor/person.
I love to rewatch his episode of the Muppet Show when I get a chance. His role in Edward Scissorhands is so memorable and his role in the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo is pretty much the only thing I remember about that show. And of course Ratigan from the Great Mouse Detective. Such an underrated villain. Not to mention his voice in the Tim Burton short Vincent and Thriller too. I really need to check out more of his earlier works sometime.

Apparently Ratigan was his most favorite role ever which is really cool considering how many roles he played in his lifetime, and ESPECIALLY considering he could have been bitter about being typecast.

He loved art and it's great to know how much he enjoyed the process (and that to him it was a chance to do an homage to his favorite actor). I mean when you really look at it Vincent was doing a bit of 'fan art' of his own. I've always loved his work-I've seen every single one of his films-but until recently I don't think I ever took the time to get to know more about him.
I'm very glad I did because I love him even more now.

I think the thing about Ratigan is that he's just the right level of ham and being genuinely intimidating. I would imagine that would have been a fun role to play. Same with Irontail (... i think the character's name was) from Here Comes Peter Cottontail to a lesser extent. That was a fun character too. I forgot about him.
Actually, Vincent Price played a lot of characters from cartoons/family films.

Since Vincent Price died shortly before I was born, my mother made my middle name Vincent. His rap from Thriller made the video great to me, and nobody can recite "The Raven" as well as Vincent Price. His version of Poe's masterpiece motivated me to memorize that poem as well. I'm very happy with my middle name. Not only do I like Vincent Price, but I later found out the name "Vincent" comes from a Latin word that means "to conquer". But back on topic, this was a great tribute. Well done!
