The scientist known only as ‘Mother’ (by Conner and his ‘cousins’, anyway) was a cold, emotionless, calculating human whose intellect was unparalleled. She was the one who created Conner gave him the powers he’d eventually call the Blue, set him out in the world with a bunch of false memories so he could more easily integrate with society, and sicced her other experiments on him to see what would happen. He was captured the first time and brought back to UNCLE, where was to be ‘improved’ for a better field test. The Blue reacted violently to the threat of possible destruction and instead destroyed Mother’s lab, and the scientist and all her experiments along with it. However Conner’s cousins have come back alive, well, and more powerful than before, so there’s a possibility Mother isn’t as dead as Conner had hoped.
