the lights are on, but nobody's home. only the faithful bots who have kept the pavement immaculate.
it is not a future i find compelling, though it is what many seem to expect and even want.
it seems to be the fantasy of our existing corporate overloards, who forget hierarcies fall as well as rise.
i will continue to believe in a greener and more logical future, though one i am equally less likely to live to see.
i can well imagine, a survivor of some future time, standing in awe of finding such a city so immaculately intact though.
so much so, as to abondon his vehicle, the last of its kind, and a myricle itself, to stand on his own legs, in the middle of an empty highway, to stand gazing up in awe, at it.

(Trumpets Blare.) Ta ta ta ta... Ta ta ta TAAA... TA TA TA TAAAH! (Voices of History.) Hello! We're glad you made it! Welcome to the Future! (Muted blast of smoke bomb.)
Seriously I really like this image. I saw a similar scene on the new Mariposa Bypass in Hesperia the night before it was opened to traffic from the I-15. It was all lit up and there was some sort of party going on in the middle of the span. One last time for pedestrians to enjoy the expanse before the cars and trucks took over I guess.
