Absolutely dashing!

I've always liked Lapis in a way; I sometimes wish she would've joined the Gems and helped kick Jasper's butt instead of fusing with her (seriously, how hard is it to trap her in water, you're standing next to the friggin' ocean!)

I particuarly like her gem's placement: in Chinese accupuncture, the back and spine are associated with memories and past experiences, as well as the element of water.
Not only does Lapis focus a lot on her past (she held a grudge against the Gems and remembers Homeworld a lot), but she also has hydrokinesis.
I like the way the show's crew handle character development!
