So many feels. I'm not even kidding.
I won't spoil anything, but. jeez.
I think I'm getting pretty close to the end. And I'll have you know, I've only wanted to cry on three separate occasions. And the fact I have to make huge important decisions just makes it that much more painful. What if I've been making the choices that are making all these things happen?? What if I chose a different answer?
I never draw fanart but holy crap Tales of Xillia is one of my favorite things (besides dragon quest)

I'm at the part where the thing happened and. I almost lost it when big bro starting humming that song. omfg. big bro.
Now I gotta go across the bridge, and kick some butt and save the day.
My friend said he wants to watch me play the end but now I'm scared because. if I actually cry I can't brag about how I never cried before if he sees me cryin' like a baby. And you said its sad, he told me he cried. Only thing that ever had me shed a single tear was Hachiko: a dog's tale movie, right at the end. gosh.
Once I beat it we can ramble and cry about stuff together. LOL.

The part where that one specific person is falling, at that one specific place, and you have to make those specific choices and that other guy is being evil. and then afterwards the little one is sad and doesn't like the other person who replaced the one who fell.
That hurt my feels.

The timed choices stress me out. I usually end up screaming something like
"NOO JUDE" or "MILLA NOOO" or "OHMYGOD WAIT NO WHY IS THIS HAPPENING" and especially "BIG BROOOOOOOO" and push the trigger buttons in a panic.
Man, Im really worried Ill cry over the ending of this game now.
if I do, I will frame the game case and hang it on my wall and put a plaque on it engraved "the first game that ever made Mono cry"
I have like. pff 7 save slots. I usually save at least two so that if I get stuck in an area with a boss I'm too under leveled to fight I can load older save. and also make new saves to rewatch scenes I like, or make a different choice. I have a save just before that huge mess prior to the bridge so Ill try choosing the other options too!

I could defeat some bosses easily, but then suddenly the next one was like hitting a wall and I had to put the game mode on easy several times. (I am totally not above playing on easy mode. the fastest way to make me ragequit a game is losing repeatedly. so I am very glad this game has an easy mode)
Tales of Graces was stupidly hard, even on easy mode. so I ragequit and haven't touched it in years.
That hurt my feels.

AHH, SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

I raged so hard I had to stop playing before I threw the controller.
Shamelessly put it on easy mode and demolished him in maybe a minute or two. No idea why he was so difficult. I left and level grinding for two hours and still couldn't win that fight, until I put it on easy!
Graces was okay, but at the same time, I couldn't really get into it. Having to upgrade your weapons using items was a pain and the tutorials were long blocks of confusing text I was far too lazy to read.
Honestly, after playing Graces I felt that maybe I didn't like Tales games, they just weren't for me. until I saw the Japanese trailer for Xillia 2, 2-3 years before the first one was even localized here in the US.
Literally the only reason I bought Xillia 1, was because I saw that japanese trailer for it's sequel and was determined to play it.
Not going to lie, I saw that pocket watch and I was sold. I love pocket watches. Collect the darn things, Ive got probably 15 of them. And have since added the Xillia 2 pre-order pocket watch replica to my collection (even if its actually s pocket mirror and not a working watch. Iwishitwasthough)
Now it's one of my favorite games.

(Cosplay watch...LOLLL Lookin for Julius' silver watch) Ludger Figure tho...though I want a big brother figure...LOOOL Julius, just fuck me up. Also squishy cat, I love squishy Rollo cat. Admires him everyday in my desk area B)

I considered buying a second pocketwatch on ebay specifically for cosplay purposes. (One to keep in my display case, another I could carry around, since id be worried I might scratch or damage the display one. lol)
There was a silver version of the watch but apparently the only way to get it was to get 10,000 points on the Tales of Xillia 2 Visa card (likely a Japanese exclusive) so if you find it anywhere, it'll probably be insanely expensive. The pouch on Ludger's leg was also floating around, perhaps another special pre-order option in japan. That thing goes for $200-$200, and the silver watch seems even rarer so tis unlikely we'll be able to find one?
As an avid collector of figures and other anime/video game merchandise, I was pretty excited for the Ludger figure.
However, as a prize figure, he's not really on par with Alter Milla and jude 1/3 scale figures (which, yes, I totally bought.) There was also a Milla in her xillia 2 outfit as a xillia 2 pre-order prize figure, no idea how anyone got her but that's the next figure Im on the hunt for.
There was also a Ludger figure as some sort of a raffle prize? It was ludger with his Lance, and his arms and face partially transformed. Secondhand that figure goes for $300. (It looks to me like an alternate edit of the Ludger prize figure, which goes for around $45) There was also an alternate color swap Ludger prize figure. no idea how youd get those figures aside from buying them secondhand.
I hope some day we get an Alter Ludger. I'd throw my money at the screen so fast.
I enjoyed the combat of both Xillia 1 and Xillia 2. Xillia 2 added a bit, but they added just enough. Any more and I wouldn't have understood the additional features.
Im excited for the new one, but I definitely hear you there. Xillia is my personal favorite of all the tales games Ive seen/played. Its the only one I personally sat down and played from beginning to end, and didn't give up or stop playing. I hope the new one will be good like xillia, rather than generic/predictable story/hard/frustrating like Graces.
Guess I gotta work on paying off my debt. At first it was a kind of cool concept but eventually it got to being more like padding, to make the game feel longer. I loved hearing what Nova had to say though. Nova is awesome and hilarious. Although watching Tales characters pull out cell phones and text sort of baffled me for a bit. xD we've come a long way.
