Happy Easter wishes Shiny! (art + short story)
Happy Easter greets at Totodile's Day!
It was a wonderful morning over Triepeaks City and all places surrounding the great city. The cold winter days fading with the arrival of spring finally to welcome the warmer months of the year. The lush green of the trees and the many colors of the beautiful flora sprouting all over the country welcomed the folks who decided to take a walk in the park, plains or woody areas surrounding the metropolis.
At Tide Grove, one of the several suburbs around Triepeaks, a little Crocodilian was especially happy as he watched out of the window of his room. Shiny the turquoise Totodile never really had anything against the winter season but the warmth of the sun had always filled him with especially much energy.
He had always awaited spring quite eagerly and that had a lot of plausible reasons. For once, his dudes always surprised him at this time with all sorts of new things. From April Fools pranks to celebrating 'Totodile's Day' and his hatchday with them, he and all the friendly people in town he knew could enjoy a fun time together.
Today it was Easter though. Shiny already found it fun in the years before to join his dudes in the happy search for candies and chocolate eggs. And this year his housemate Brakk had told him they'd have a picnic with some of their dudes at the park together.
Brakk was a toony Crocodile who had the ability to change his appearance at will. Since he was a Cartoon actor at a TV broadcaster at the city, he always was happy to show Shiny his tricks and roles of all sorts. For his Totodude he even often took on the role of a blue Totodile so they would fit together even more when playing around.
The little Water starter who lived at Brakk's attic since the time he had been invited into the house, always appreciated the hospitality of his precious dude and so had been looking forward to this weekend. He had spend the past days with packing all things for a fun afternoon at the park. Just a day before he had a lot of sandwiches prepared and put them all in a big basket with a few bottles of milk.
As Shiny went down to look for Brakk and to make breakfast for him he was surprised to see him not sleeping in his room nor to find him anywhere else downstairs. He guessed that Brakk might have had went out to get something for the picnic yet and decided to take a refreshing shower and get ready for going out.
As he went to the bathroom, Shiny wondered as he found a sticky note at the shower cabin's door. What got his attention the most though was what was next to the note. there hung a pair of white Rabbit ears, rose on the inside with a fluffy ball of wool attached to a ribbon. "Good morning! Got these for you as a surprise. Also have something waiting in the garden. - Brakk" was the note's message.
He giggled as he picked up the funny hat. Brakk knew Shiny so well. The turquoise Totodile loved costumes and funny accessories so it just took a brief moment before Shiny was watching himself inside the mirror with the funny hat that Brakk had left for him. They fit perfectly and he found it fun how the big ears where waving with each movement he made.
Though what had Brakk prepared in the garden? Shiny continued quickly with morning wash and went downstairs, his Rabbit ears back on his head. As he arrived at the living room he looked outside through the glass doors leading to the house's patio and garden.
He directly spotted something colorful. A balloon was floating there, weighed down with a stone attached to a string. What was interesting though: there was an arrow painted on it pointing to the right. Shiny giggled amused and knew that Brakk wanted him to follow that lead.
Without any further thinking Shiny walked where that balloon was directing him. He walked past the swimming pool that was next to Brakk's house and arrived at the garden beds that Shiny had added to grow berries, vegetables and herbs for several yummy meals to cook.
He found the next clue there, this time a wooden sign pointing to the bushes leading towards the woody area next to their place. Shiny gently pushed the leaves to the side to follow the natural path behind the hedges surrounding their garden and soon found more arrows there.
And how many there actually were. Brakk must have been hard working to paint so many arrows on the trees' trunks. Shiny enjoyed this paperchase really much since he was excited to see where the surprise would be waiting for him. Amused his Bunny hat bounced with him as he hopped around playfully.
The woods were truly wonderful when they were green and scenting full of life. Shiny had often taken strolls and played around here which made him an expert of the whole area. He knew all places around here very well.
While following the arrows he wagged his tail and hum a melody, already scenting where he'd arrive soon. A row of bushes to pass through yet, he arrived at a bigger clearing, a nice plain area with a great meadow stretched before him. He happily jumped around between the many wild flowers growing there.
But then he actually noticed something next to the taller grass that made his eyes glow in amazement. A rather big oval object was poking out in the scenery. Bright and vibrant colors all over it, to the little Easter Totodile revealed a large Easter egg. Shiny ran towards it and squealed happy about the nice surprise.
"Totodily awesome!" he shouted, which got answered with "Happy Easter, Shiny!"
He turned around and saw Brakk who grinned at him from down of a tree branch, holding onto the basket with their picnic food. He put it down to pick the egg up and handing it to his dily dude. As Shiny held the egg he heard a rustling sound and noticed, that the big egg seemed to be made of chocolate and filled with many little candies inside.
That surprise was simply a super one for Shiny. He happily gave his housemate and great dude a hug and thanked him. Together they spent a wonderful Easter day, played around with their dudes at the park and shared the chocolate and candies with everybody.
<< Happy Easter & Happy Totodile's Day, everybody! (-^.=.^-) ♥ >>
Phew, I'm so happy I was able to make it in time yet. Drew this pic in "Art Academy: SketchPad" on Wii U. I thought the idea of something Easter related would be very cute and fun to submit since Shiny is always happy for celebrations.
I'm happy that I can share the fun at my hatchday and hope all my dudes will have fun with this little Easter Totodile story. Thank you guys for your friendliness always. I hope to submit more art sooner than I did this time.
Enjoy Totodile's Day and Easter days, dudes. *gifts you candy from the large chocolate egg* (~^.=.^~)

That coming from you, Sai, is definitely an honor. I hope to write more in the future yet. I love both, pictures and stories which is why my personal goal would be to have a fun collection that all fans of each can enjoy when looking into Shiny's little adventures. I have the opinion that words can express something that no pic could ever do and vice versa. But it simply might be the positive feelings you can express in so many forms are what I truelly enjoy. <X3
