I know it sounds minor, but I still very much appreciate your backgrounds. Just enough detail to know where we are, without getting lost and anal-retentive with the details. We're more focused on the story at hand, and its a very good way to steer the readers eye where it needs to go with the muted colors and simple shading.
In my comic (Wulf Mountain) its kind of the opposite, since it's my job to dress up the backgrounds with all the trappings of a tribal situation-- meanwhile my girlfriend does the figures and such. So I suppose that's just splitting the work... I dunno. Carry on! :D

Illustrate well the scene in the first panel, to let everyone know where this scene is taking place, and the rest needn't be filled, cause you already know. o3o
