It's not normal for the females the village Irene grew up in to be any kind of hunter or warrior. Females were even excluded from spearfishing as well. During times of struggle with neighboring villages or threats of invaders would the women of her tribe be allowed to pick up weapons and get basic training. This still had its limits on who could arm themselves or not. Mothers, children, and elderly women were not allowed still. Only women who showed the strength and courage needed to face an attacker were trained. Irene while not a mother or a child was not taken for training. The men in charge decided she looked to pretty and too skinny to be any kind of fighter. Upset by their decision, she found a way to practice on her own. Sneaking a spear into the woods where she gathered fruits and roots during the day she practiced. She practiced only during the night, stashing the spear in a fallen tree on her way back every morning. She may not be the best with a spear, but if it came down to it, she would fight her hardest to the very end...

A quick PWYW I got from Mosa of Irene. Gave them my piece with Irene holding a spear and asked for something to that likeness. Wish I could have been in stream to watch it come to life, but work took priority.
