The first king of Poland after years of calamity, brave Władysław Łokietek of the Piast dynasty and his clever son, Kazimierz III, the only of Polish monarchs to be called "The Great"*. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have a thing to learn about gothic art of our beloved motherland!
Another part of my diploma. I was supposed to paint people who I adore most - the first rulers of Lithuania, the Gediminids dynasty and Mindaugas, the first and only king of this beautiful country. The other part of my project portrays the Piast dynasty, which's nowhere near perfect in comparision to this fascinating family, but still, I enjoyed painting them. (don't take this too serious and personal, haha)
