Finally bought a scope for one of my PTRs, as well as a few other fancy bits to make it more suitable as a precision rifle. Weighs a ton, but is rock solid and built like a tank.
Might move to scraps later.

Maryland assault weapon ban :C
Funnily enough a lot of random shit wasn't hit by it, unless it changed.
For example, AR15s with heavy barrels are ok, but not with a normal barrel.
Also for some dumb reason the SIG 556, SCAR, and P90 are untouched and are cash and carry.
My state is fucking dumb.

its funny i had just seen this....looking to purchase my first Assault rifle....all I have in my posession is a Savage 110CL in 30-06spr, a SIG Mosquito 22lr, and S&W .22lr revolver, so my options i have given myself are... buy a better pistol, Or Buy a Semi-auto Battle rifle to jumpstart my little collection. I have always wanted a H&K pattern, i've been looking at the PTR rifles, checked reviews and comparisons on the .308 and seems to be loved everywhere, but its almost $1 a round..... would you ever reccomend The PTR91 in .308 over the likes of A century arms 5.56 C93 (HK93)? Or should i just join the band wagon and start out with an AR as a first? ...the only advantage i see in the AR is cheaper to shoot and accessories...so far as i can see by reviews is the .308 is a better all-around caliber, deer hunt, protect the homestead, hard hitting... the only downfall is its weight and cost. But then again its going to be a all-purpose rifle, and I don't plan on making a plinker....I feel like every household should have a rifle such as this, it just so happens that mine doesn't. Just looking for input..you say this is "one" of your PTRs so i assume they are favored by you, you must have something good to say about them. Do you happen to have a PTR32?
Ptrs are great guns, and are relatively inexpensive for what they are. For you though, I recommend an ar-15 or aar-10. They're super cheap to buy now with a whole bunch of equipment made specifically for them. That, and ptrs chew up brass making reloading impossible. I personally don't own a 32, but they also look like good guns.
