Bloodelves have nothing to do in the Horde.

Sylvanas was a blood elf ranger defending Silvermoon. The old Lordaeron is now the home of the Forsaken. Also the Alliance wanted to execute Kael'thas and his men for 'treason' (accepting the Nagas help). It's complicated but in the end it all comes together. They don't belong to the Alliance :)

They belong to neither factions. They're prancing lil' basterds that got kicked out of the Alliance because Kael'Thas was a bloody psycho, (and it's too bad he didn't get executed, but at least we get to kill him ourselves), so they simply ended up in the Horde as a last-hand solution.

As for Sylvanas, I think she'd have done a very good replacement for the Lich-King, but that'd have completely fucked up the Lore. (There again, I'm a complete Sylvanas fanboy because she's f*cking awesome, so seeing her take over the Scourge and walk upon Azeroth, I'd be like "Yes please make me your undying servant!" xD)

I don't hate B-elves themselves, especially now that Lor'Themar is at the head of their people.

But I think they'd be more to their place if they were affiliated with the Kirin'Tor, or if they were a neutral nation. That's just my opinion though. :T

I think their hunger for magic makes them misfits. They would be rejected from the Kirin Tor. The Horde is made of these misfits, they help eachother with their talents. Technology: goblins, brite strength: orcs, magic: blood elves, connection to the elements and nature: tauren, same but with the spirits: trolls, alchemy: forsaken. In this world without an ally you're dead. If you're your own faction you have to give something in return in order to worth keeping you alive by both factions. And the blood elves hate the Alliance, therefore they fit to the Horde. Kael'thas was a cool dude but just like Arthas he followed the wrong path. He just wanted to save his people.

As much as I love Arthas and find his story tragic and sad as hell, I've never really liked Kael'Thas, probably because he went all fucked up and narcisistic when we meet him in his raid and dungeon in BC, also because he freakin' tries to bring Kil'Jaeden up in the god-damn Azeroth which is a serious no-no. xD

He went mad after he followed Illidan to Outland. Before that he was a positive figure. I actually liked him in Warcraft III.

The horde helped them deal with Dark'khan, the traitor. And as mentioned, Sylvanas is a bloodelf.

I do gree though. Everything he did was in an attempt to save his people. Granted he did try to summon Kil'jaeden...
Why not chastise Maiev for leaving Tyrande in the clutches of the undead in her pursuit of Illidan though?
On top of that she tricked Malfurion...

At the Kil'jaeden part Kael'thas was beyond saving I think. He was mad with power and his intentions changed during the years he spent on Outland. Especially after he was defeated. He didn't take that part very well.
