It's actually a thing within the game: the protagonist get's called "Shining one" by a character known as The Anguished one.

yes it was ^^
mainly to the character because he get's called by that name a lot later on (from that person), especially if you go towards the Anguished One's Ending (there are 4 endings to the game)
