So we see that the Master's assessment of the designer of the {Sheaf of Arrows} Doe's Room was correct!
Several times the Wolf Queen gave non-answers to the Prince's questions... and like most others, he did not seem to suspect that she was allowing himself to read into those answers what he expected rather than what she did or didn't say... her final one was the a kicker... by her answer Gawain thinks she is agreeing that the Master is strange while she is stating that as she truly does not sate the Master, she must be the stranger of the two.

I must say…I actually assumed that Aioli'd taught her that trick when she'd taken her alone into the forest at Aroglau's "funeral".
I did enjoy the manner in which she addressed Gawain…is not entirely respectful…but not disrespectful either…but then again…she talks like that to everybody

And that is her secret. She treats everyone the same, asks leave of none, and though she can be abrasive to those who invade her privacy, she does her best to uphold the Right. Whether by nature or by virtue of the accouterments she acquired (that acquired her?) she is much more of the Long Ago than of the era of the Empire of Faerie.
And I'm not at all sure that Estvan would have won the battle had he been foolhardy enough to push it.
