All too often, artists draw Rrhexis's legs way too long. This is intended as an aide for future artists who might not understand the proportions or leg length of Corgis.
The reason leg length matters is because Rrhex is a fairly well-built purebred Corgi, not some kind of fox hybrid, and certainly not a leggy, lanky mutt. To be correct, the legs must be very short.
The top image shows some visual measurements to make sure the legs are short enough. The middle image is the absolute LONGEST the legs can be to be "correct."
The bottom image is merely to illustrate WRONG length: TOO LONG.
Please note that I am NOT angry about past commissions that have legs too long, I am merely trying to prevent this very common error from happening in the future. :)

Yeah, if there's too much daylight visible under 'em it's not a correct dog. ;) I had one "corgi" groom client who had like 15 inches of daylight under his chest at it's deepest point, and I was like "Uhhhhh...right, not a Corgi." But the shelter told them it was a purebred so the owners were SUPER SURE their dog could have been a showdog if only he had papers. ;) It wasn't even a Corgi mix from what I could tell...had loose lips and flewy lips, likely a Basset cross. The parent that was known was a Lab so I don't even know why they believed he was pure when they KNEW he had a Lab parent. TL;DR version.: people can be so dumb about short dogs, LOL.
my corgi mutts got the longer legs too. shorter than a normal dog, longer than a corgi's ought to be. Shelter said he was a pembroke/cardigan mix. uh-huh. a very leggy, short coated, gay tailed corgi. His ears, face, splay toes and coloring/markings are more or less perfect to cardigan standard,- blue eyed blue merle, tan points, white blaze, belly, tail tip and toes, plus one neck splotch.
My personal theory is he's actually a cardigan x ACD, with more of the corgi evident. But he's adorable, and very velcro-y and smart. also, a 21 lb alarm system. someones at the door, in the yard, in the neighbors yard, across the street... we are informed.
