Autumn Song

Spring has come and summers soon
still I crave the hunters moon.
In fertile fields it's time for seeding.
For Autumns chill my heart is bleeding.
The purple haze as sunset fades
reveals the stars that turn and play.
The smell of winter so close yet fleeting
and pumpkin heads that smile in greeting.
A taste of sugar upon my tongue
while spirits walk in search of fun.
The masks they wear in truth revealing
true faces all have been concealing.
Within my heart I fan the fire,
my October love a brilliant pyre.
Until the nights grow cold and long,
my heart will sing for Autumns song.
