Well, I've been considering a new name for my RPG system, and Dragon Rune kinda sounded good. I dunno why, but I like it.. so I pabored over a hot Illustrator to make this D:
isn't it bitchin' >.<?
tell me what you think of the name change from
Realms of Set'al to Dragon Runes

well... although i haven't looked into the project any (just wandered in from the front page), I can at least give my opinion based on the name.
Dragon Rune is definitely very fantasy. But when you think about it, there are lots of games that have Dragon and Rune in the title. By choosing that name, you are kind of lumping your game into that category and ideal - which may or may not be a bad thing depending on your intentions.
As for Realms of Set'al, it has a much more personal and unique feeling. The word Realms implies fantasy, while Set'al (from what i know to be a made-up word) implies imaginative uniqueness. However, that uniqueness might be a turn-off for some people who are looking for a more casual game. Having a unique fantasy word in the title can single you out and separate you from the herd - but if its a word that is used out of context, then it just seems strange.
I would stick with the first one, but modify the first word: Realms. Try to find something else that still captures the uniqueness of your system, but at the same time gives a familiar feel to it.
"Dragons of Set'al" might be a good place to start with. As well, maybe change the wordage of Set'al. What is it? Why is it important?
Anyways... just my two cents...

*giggles* the reason I wanted to change the name is because Set'al is the default campaign setting of the RPG system, and I didn't wanna make it seem like I was limiting the game just to that place. I looked at Dragon Rune because Dragon is a very familiar word for fantasy RPers, and it'd hit home easily, and Rune.. because I like that word x3
if you have any suggestions, I'll take 'em :3
