Oh my *crack my back* *crack neck* uff. At last I have this project done. Working in this commission with my work over me wasn´t that easy : Ic Definitly the longest time I took to finish a commission. But I must said something, now that I see this finished, I can feel that TIME WAS WORTHY! : D
Man there´s a lot of things that I love of from this pic but there´s two things that I appreciate the most: The water effect, all clean and crystallized and transparent along with some characters on it, I guess I kinda level up with it heheh. And second, the intention of this project.
Yup, that´s right!
arkanian asked me to do this groupal commission to express his thanks for all his friends who supported him in the times when he needed : ) I must say that´s so sweet and also honored to do such thing ; )
Ok, now to mention the people who enter into this project forn left to right:
riel Taking a fresh time in the water while watching the match, wondering if there´s gonna be another hit after that super shot heheh XD
zimux Enjoying the most this crystallized water that he could even fall asleep. Let just hope the waves doesn´t drag him to the ocean : lc
dazer_dude His orc taunting his mastership at volleyball and waiting for his turn to play. All self confident, eh? :3c
Photonbandit Why just enjoying just the water to be fresh if you can also drink at the same time ; )
coolmuffin Realizing that the place where they build the sand castle wasn´t a good idea XD
Soaringeagle78 Just showing up everyone how awesome his body is, and of course, with a certain effective angle X3c
Angin_Jiwa Wishing, almost praying that that cannon ball is not for him XDc
nero.husky After time of making a nice sand castle and just about to put his last touch with that shell...... darn! XDE
tybalt-elric Watching how the other team is about to shoot a meteor on them... next time think twice when you play against a big strong guy like him XD
Just enjoyinh the delicious life through good sandwitch (just drawing him eating that provoked me to be hungry to : lE)
Oh yeah Malak? two can play the same game, bit that! XD
He won´t promise that after this no one would be hurt, is just his moment to shine! : DE
Yup, water can be cold, but then you won´t regret it ; ) one of the freashy things you can experience in the world.
Oh my god! thank god I´m not these two poor dudes. So he´s lucky to be at the winner team heh ; D
Ok then, I hope you guys like what you see here because I do and I´m happy to see this finished TwT
Thanks again Ark for giving me this project to draw!
PS: Does anyone know the alternative way to put a user icon instead of ":icon(username):? Is to complete the list and I see some others place the icons in a different way XD

Yeah, lately people are interested in this kind of stuff with me : ) I`m glad they like it. I always try to show the characters more than 80% of themselves. Not a half body or a piece of it ; )
And yeah, I also wanna go to the beach after working with the water XD, it´ll be summer time soon ^^

Here you go, making an expedition to fond one of the players buried with the ball heheh XD

Nah I really doubt that ; ) Remember that you did a lot of beautiful landscapes which I wanted to do to show the type of World that Orion lives.
So the only thing that you add on your pics to look like mine, is adding more than 10 characters, which I know you would do it awesome!
And yeah, this reflect the kind of place that I wanna be on a vacation XD

Yay, it is DONE!
And I have some time to write you my usual, rather extended comment.
I will NOT comment on any character, because I do NOT know any of them. They look... interesting. XD
It is a highly interesting mixture of characters and they look... rather unique. Alright.
^^"
Just one thing... you still need to work on how the biceps of an arm behaves if an arm is lifted!!! This "orc" guy and the dark winged dragon... they lift their left arms and the biceps is just wrong here.
Please check athletics again... to see how a biceps works and how the left chest muscle moves.
This is what I mean:

The best part of this artwork is the BACKGROUND!!!
You did an excellent job on the woods, trees, palms and water.
The background sky and nature looks fantastic and highly believable. And the water effects are... leaving me speechless!! The sparkling effects are really believable and VERY well done!!!
I know, you've tried to follow my advise to use harder shading this time (at least for the drop shade on the ground/sand)... but it didn't work out all the way, sadly. ^^"
Here's my only negative critique I have to give you.
The shading.
The shading of the bodies are generaly okay but could've been more crisp and dark. After all, we are in bright sunlight. Though it worked in most parts here, some shades could've been stronger.
But there is one huge flaw here... only two drop shades are really working well and I am referring to the drop shades of the two volleyball players (red and yellow shorts).
ALL the other drop shades are not well done, too soft or... NOT there, at all!
Yes, even under water we have some kind of shade... but unfortunately, you either forgot the shade or it is blurred and brightened up by some filter.
Hm... okay, I can see now... you did NOT forget (!) any drop shade... but they are all WAY TOO SOFT AND TOO LIGHT!!
For example: The guy in the left background (dark grey skin and dark red shorts)... this guy seems to float in the water! He has NO weight at all (despite his obviously heavy body :D )!! This is the worst character of all - considering his placement in the artwork AND his drop shade (also, the perspective seems not to work, 'cause he is more away than all the others).
So... though all the water effects are excellent and awesome, they do lighten all the drop shades of the characters, which is just bad and wrong.
The guy with the green speedo and horns and red mane also looks like he DOES NOT belong there... he's not really ON the ground but floating above it. Why? Because his light body and the also light underground do not correspond! His drop shade MUST be darker!!
LAST WORDS:
It is an excellent scene, with plenty interesting characters and an awsome background! Just the shading is still NOT dark enough, considering the bright sunlight.
ADIVSE:
Be more brave with shading!!
HELP:
Okay, in order to show you what I mean I've added a version of this artwork where I did change the contrast and shading a little bit!
http://reptile-universum.de/misc/Be.....h-Party-CS.jpg
See what I mean?
Don't you think the water and the shading looks much better now? And especially the underwater-shading... it is more vivid considering the light source, which is VERY strong!
And I did ONLY USE some stupid "burn" tool (Range: Shadows)!!!
Still, I congratulate on the complexity and the massive amount of work and love you've put into this.

Hmmmm *comparing*
Well you´re absolutely right about the look of the dropped shadows inside the water, it gives a nice effect on it to difference from the outside. As for the shade in general. Well is true that the more brightest it is, the more dark the shades and shadows are. Normally I do pics with dark shades than this, but heh, after watching how clear and bright the pic was, during the process I was kind aunsure about keeping the dark tone : lc and I decided to proceed as I have it here XD
But those sharpy shadows in the sand : P Told ya that I don´t get used to it unless it´s a cell shade pic XD Hmmm I guess I should add a certain gradient on them to show the difference between the body how close is to the floor and the rest of the body how far is it : lc I still need to figure that out the next time I draw a strong sunny day.
Including the advice and of course your sample, thanks a lot for the comment here : D Glad that you notice that I spend some time for the background, especially the water which is my favourite part. So transparent, crystallized, fresh, clear and lively TwT I´m indeed satisfied with this heheh.

You're welcome.
And here's one more advice:
Try to use two layers of the shading... an "Aldo normal" one and a super dark one.
And then you save two artworks... and compare them.
Maybe you will find that darker shading can be better then.
Maybe.
I always do more versions to compare.
