That was truly wonderful! Very much your own work but with an extremely generous helping of Vixyy for flavoring!
Seriously, it feels as though you two collaborated very closely on this. You really captured her spirit. The descriptions are simply delicious, perfectly balanced for the length of the work and the nature of the subject.
And the story itself... Whimsy with a touch of tragedy. I can easily imagine being immersed in both when around those who served during that time, biological and mechanical. I especially appreciated the note at the end, letting us know the source of the air show accident descriptions. It was a very nice personal touch that made the event all the more meaningful.

If it comes across as a collaboration then that makes me feel pretty happy, but no, it was all me...although I think Vixyys's 'Reach for the sky' was in the back of my mind for much of this, and memories of airshows attended with my father.
It was a very personal and emotional piece for me, but it seems that the intent carried clearly enough to those who matter, so I'm more than content.
