NAME: Homerius
TITLE: The Aspect of Justice
-Also represents: the law, diplomacy, trade
SPECIES: human
SIGIL: A set of perfectly balanced scales
HISTORY: Homerius, like Nymera, was once a normal human who endured multiple reincarnations, though he only lived three lives before being plucked from the crowd by Saetan for ascension. But unlike Nymera, his lives were all notable, for in each one he grew up to become a well respected leader, a patron of justice, fairness and equality. His negotiations helped to forge the economy of the Telmarine nation in its infancy. But what is doubly notable about him is the fact that though he became well established among the Telmarines in each of his lives, he was never born a Telmarine. He was actually born each time as a member of the Shatterpine, the nation that dwells on the far side of the Eastfolds mountains, and the Telmarines' enemy since time immemorial. In each life he became an ambassador between the two warmongering nations, and gained a vast level of respect despite the fact that everything from the build of his body to the darkness of his skin showed that he was not one of them. Although Saetan himself is not interested in maintaining "fairness" among the people of Stormhold, he knew having someone like Homerius serve as an Aspect would help stabilize an otherwise vastly divided land.
PERSONALITY: Very quiet and calm, but by no means humble. His presence can command the attention of any crowd, and it is not inaccurate when people claim that every word he says turns the course of nations. He is a firm supporter of law and order, and thus has never seen eye-to-eye with Sheogorath....relatively speaking. Another of Homerius' attributes that followed him through his reincarnations was that he was stricken blind at a very young age.
Homerius is the patron of judges and traders, and at any time he can be called in to moderate a stalled agreement. Although not technically worshiped, almost all oaths invoke his name in some way, and he takes these oaths very seriously. Anyone caught using his name in vain soon sorely regret it. He is fair in his judgments, but on the other hand, he cannot be swayed by anything. Once his judgment is cast, there is no appeal, no changing it. And he is not afraid to lay down the death penalty for those who deserve it.
POWERS: If invoking almost instant respect from anybody is considered a power, then Homerius has it in droves. He has no physical power, only the strength of his great knowledge and ability to see through the murk of lies to find the truth.
ARTIST'S COMMENTS: Here is the last human I had to draw for this project, and overall I think I actually did fairly well with the build I had in mind for him. His legs were a challenge due to incorrect anatomy in the first few drafts, and could probably still stand to take some more edits. But I think I'll leave this one as is. Though one of the Aspects, Homerius is also one who has never physically played a roll in any of the current events I have circling around this new universe of mine. He probably will continue to be overlooked.
