I really like this song and I wanted to draw something with Hiccup and Toothless from it. This is partially spurred on in a line from the awesome avannak‘s fanfiction, Leið, “She felt his rage. His self-loathing.” (Go read it by the way, its rad.)
It made me think of something I hadn’t really considered much, the responsibility Toothless might feel for Hiccup’s injury. While Hiccup was unconscious, how many times did Toothless play the scenario over in his head and think about what he could have done to prevent what happened.

agreed man! Also awesome song you paired with this! I ended up making a playlist of songs that reminded me of the first movie after I first saw it. Lots of heartwrenching, heavy, layered, melodic stuff ^w^

When I first saw this I thought it was adorable but when I saw it when the music was playing, it sent shivers down my spine and I think I can safely say that a lot of people would wish to be in hiccups position now, cuddled close to toothless and protected from the world around. This is what I think about some nights when I go to sleep.
