It was a few years before I volunteered to 'change'. And no, don't take that the wrong way - I didn't so much change, as I made the choice to be with him forever. <3
Sykes knew it was rough on us, since he was technically immortal, and both us didn't want to go through all that pain and suffering. Before I made the choice, the two of us took a trip for New Years. Camping, the night sky, watching us fumble and set up a tent - it was the most fun we'd had in ages!
He never did say if he liked the color of my hair, he just told me he loved every bit of me. And that always got me to clam up and get shy. Even with all the stress and worries we went through, that camping trip made it all vanish. And in a way, it was the last trip I took as a normal person. I kept the photo because... well, it's a treasured memory to us both. And now we can make so many more and never lose each other.
